crepes

This morning Jordan made crepes for breakfast.  Not bad for a first try.  I topped mine and Rose's off with frozen berries that I thawed.  It, of course, would have been better with fresh berries.  I can't wait until berries are back in season.  Oh, and peaches!  Ooo, fresh peach crepes would be good.
Here is the recipe that Jordan used.

package for bella

Bella, Rose's pillow pet, got a package.  It was her dog friend, Heart Squench!  Notice that Bella opened the package with her ears.

noodlie noodles

Rose is getting to be a pasta making expert, I tell ya.  These pictures were taken a couple of days ago.  This is the spaghetti cutter.  What I love is that we can still make angel hair (my favorite) with the spaghetti cutter by making the dough super thin.  No need to buy the angel hair cutter.  Score!

first attempt

There are 2 things that I knew Jordan would be making a lot of when he got home from Afghanistan.  They both start with a ppuh... ppuh...  ok, that's the hint we give to Rose.  Pasta and pies.  With his birthday coming up shortly after he got home I knew the KitchenAid Pasta Roller Attachments would be a hit.  I've been eyeing them for years, so when I saw them on Amazon for a good price I jumped on it!  They were a hit indeed.  He's made pasta nearly everyday since.

Here's attempt number one.  I think I need to get him a drying rack, so he doesn't have to use our laundry drying rack.

Rose has become quite proficient as well.  I'll take some more pictures next time, which will probably be tomorrow.  :)

I also got him this book, which he loves.

tea party

A tea party with real drinks.  Cider, buttermilk and sugar.  Rose was so excited.  Pinkies up!
